Old Gas Station #1

I am into wierd things. Like skylines (the top ten will return as soon as I get them from my "Nashville" laptop). And old gas stations. When I was a kid, the guy across the street was a big "car" guy and a Ford fan. He also collected old gas station signs.
Whatever. You are what you are. For now, this is old gas station number 1.

Thanks, Keith

Not so weird, my friend! Long ago (in a galaxy far far away) before the oil companies became the bane of our collective existence, I used to tally up the number of gas stations we'd pass on road trips when I was a kid (Standard/Amoco or Phillips 66 usually won), and I especially loved seeing those gas stations that had the revolving signs.

Also during my childhood (circa. 1972), I used to stare out my bedroom window nearly every night (all the while listening to WHB on the radio) waiting to see which of these two gas stations on 50 Hwy. would shut their lights off first--the Phillips 66 on the near side or the Champlin station across the way--right around 10PM. Every time I hear Paul Simon's "Mother and Child Reunion" or the Osmonds'
"Down By The Lazy River", I think of those carefree times when I was a kid being a kid...

Not weird at all -- I am also very into skylines, and am interested in what old stores and businesses looked like back in the day. Crank 'em out, my friend. :)
